9.TEN.11… a day to remember for not only event elements but for my family as well! It was an exciting day to celebrate my aunt and her new husband! With these two creative geniuses, no detail was overlooked! I had a blast working with them and helping their special day to run as smoothly as possible! I first introduced you to them HERE and showed your their handmade invitations HERE
Below are some of my images but I am anxiously awaiting the amazing work of Ryan Ray Photography!

Cake time (always involves a quick tutorial!) : )
This was the greatest best man toast ever! He changed in to a German costume (in honor of the Bride’s heritage & their honeymoon destination) and gave his speech in German! My Oma / Mother of the Bride then gave the translation then we went straight in to the Chicken Dance. It was perfect!
I was soooo excited to finally get to work with my friend Damany with i-entertainment! He was just as awesome as I expected! Heidi & Wesley met him at our family Thanksgiving last year & knew he was the guy for their big day!!!
Caramel Apple Favors for the guests – so good!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. P! It was an honor to be a part of your wedding weekend! I am so happy for y’all and pray that God will continue to bless you! And Wesley, welcome to the fam!
xoxo,
Kristyn

I have anxiously been awaiting this wedding since, well these two started dating ; ) See, unlike my other couples I have known the bride for… my whole life! haha This is my aunt and she is an amazingly talented graphic designer. She married another amazingly talented graphic designer which equals DETAILS galore! In case you missed it, I posted their Save the Date and invitations earlier HERE.
So the weekend began with the rehearsal of course! Here are some photos from that:

Everyone having fun!
Yours Truly enjoying a cupcake… duh!
I get this question a lot “what does a wedding coordinator actually do?” It’s one of those things you don’t really understand until after the wedding and the bride, groom, and families will say to me “what would we have done without you?!” : ) Not to pat myself on the back, but what we actually do on the wedding day is hard to put on paper per say! I found a few of these snapshots from Betty & Anoop’s recent wedding and thought it showed us in action!
Some of the things going on… questions being answered, pictures taken, details reviewed, boutonnieres pinned on (this wedding had over 50!!), checking chair covers and linens, lining up everyone and giving cues, setting favors, passing out mints and tissues, giving snacks and waters, lighting candles, okaying the lighting and sound, confirming all vendors have arrived and are ready, having the emergency kit on hand [safety pins, sewing kit, tape, medicine, etc.] and the list goes on and on…
oh, and yes the occasional Starbucks and “tweet” are included 😉
Introducing the newest member to the Event Elements family!! A big girl DSLR camera : ) I love, love, love pictures so am pretty excited about it AND my custom strap & lens pocket! (Praise the Lord for Etsy!)
Disclaimer: I am not a professional photographer nor do I want to be! I leave that to those who truly have a gifting and whose work I admire!

July was a fun month because of this awesome wedding! I first met Betty in February and we instantly clicked! We quickly got to work to plan their special day with 700 of their family and friends! This was the largest wedding Event Elements has done to date and I think we conquered it! I had a fantastic team that made it all possible! We all thoroughly enjoyed being a part of these families’ special day!
Anoop and Betty, thank you for trusting me to help y’all and I pray God’s richest blessings for your marriage!

So, I have said before that I’m only as good as my vendors : ) And that was so evident at this wedding! We had an incredibly talented team that made my job easier!

So I have a confession… although I see tons of invitations all the time, I still *love* when one is in my mailbox! : ) This particular one was no exception, but was even more special! Not only is this one of my awesome clients, but the bride is my aunt! I’m so excited and honored to be helping them with their big day!
Both H & W are graphic designers for a marketing agency so needless to say we have all been anxious to see what their invites would look like… they did not disappoint!! I knew they would be amazing because my aunt did my wedding invites four years ago : )
If you would like info on custom invitations for your own wedding, please send me an e-mail and I will get in you in touch with Heidi!

I had the great privledge of working closely with Melissa for over a year as she worked hard on planning this rockin’ wedding! Often times our planning conversations or e-mails drifted to Mavericks talk but I think we pulled of an amazingly fun wedding at the always awesome Hickory Street Annex! A big thank you to an awesome group of vendors: Michelle at Hickory Street Annex, DJ Lamont, Hunter with Ben & Jerry’s, Kristen with CN Catering, Kristen with 4Flashes Photobooths, & Kristen with Haute Floral. (Yes, you read that right… there were a total of FOUR Kristens on this wedding! And THAT was another reason it was awesome!)
Melissa said yesterday in an e-mail how not talking with me for a few weeks was kind of odd and that it seems strange to “go cold turkey!” LOL Awwww… that made me smile! And yes, I feel the same way! Congrats to Shane and Melissa and may you enjoy lots and lots of wedded bliss!!!
Check out some shots my wonderful assistant Michelle captured : )
Okay! This bouquet was FABULOUS!!! Melissa collected all of these brooches for a year! It was SO heavy! (And no, she didn’t use it for her toss bouquet! HA!)
Adorable shot as they recess out… MARRIED! I love the look on Melissa’s face and Shane’s big smile!
Mr. & Mrs. K. ready to be introduced for the first time!!
Tables with CD favors for the guests
(iPhone pic) The hallway as guests entered had records from the couple’s personal collection
These centerpieces were lovingly made by the groom!
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream bar – A HUGE hit!!
What a fun, rockin’ wedding to be a part of! It was great working with you Melissa! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. K!!!!
A very big CONGRATULATIONS to our Dallas Mavericks… the new CHAMPIONS!!!
Yours truly has been a long time Mavs fan since the ’80s so needless to say, I’m SUPER excited and proud! Way to go boys! MFFL!!!
